OnTimeProof® Customer Feedback

     Since the initial launch of OnTimeProof®, we have been receiving many compliments from the Heidelberg customers who have incorporated OnTimeProof® into their Delta production lines. The feedback has been so great that instead of describing the features and benefits of OnTimeProof®, we have decided to give you an opportunity to get straight to an unbiased source - OnTimeProof® users. They have shared their feelings, opinions, and recommendations in a form of a brief questionnaire. Here is the first one we would like to present to you.

     "Speed is the name of the game. As fast as you can get it and of the highest quality available. We are always looking for ways to speed up our customer service and delivery. They appreciate the fact that we do the best that we can to get their job to them on a timely basis. The time it takes the turn a job around can make the difference between getting a job or it going to one of our competitors. As we began to look into areas that we could make up time in our process we focused on proofing. As we looked into the process we found that on average it took at least 24 hours to send a hard copy of the proof to our customers. We also would make an extra proof so that we would not lose another 24 hours waiting for the proof to be returned with correction or OK’d. To help our turn around we needed a way to "soft proof" jobs and send them to our customer. We need a quality product that would work well with our existing Delta workflow. OnTimeProof® was the answer for us. It enables us to generate pdf and jpeg proofs of the page "Delta List" files that we use to make our proofs and plates. With OnTimeProof we now automatically E-mail links to our customers to show them trapped, production quality files. They have the ability to sign- off or to add annotations to PDF pages so that we have a clear line of communication on how to proceed. Faxes are a thing of the past."

     We wanted to send this to you earlier, but we've been busy (thanks, in part, to your great product.) We are very satisfied with OTP and have received a lot of great feedback from our clients. (See below.) We've only heard good things. Some were apprehensive about trying it, but all liked OTP once they tried. Here are the answers to your questions:
- What does your company specialize in?
- Short run, high quality, quick turnaround, and commercial work.
- What kind of customers do you have?
- Mostly commercial, industrial, some political and some agency work.
- What made you decide to incorporate OnTimeProof into you production line?
- We like that OTP is fully automated, running in the background. We love not having to maintain it. We own it, so there is not a subscription with per page charges.
- How do you utilize OnTimeProof®?
- When a client calls/faxes/emails a job, we confirm the correct email address for proofing. Offer to walk them through if necessary. During preflight we enter the job number into OTP, we send the job through our Delta workflow, and then the OTP background processes take place. It automatically creates JPEG and PDF from the Delta and sends an email to our client. They receive an email prompting them to log on to our website and proof their job. When they're finished we receive an email notice telling us theyve checked the job. It's super fast. Easy.
- In what way have you and/or your customers benefited from OnTimeProof®?
- OTP has given us the ability to offer a value-added service to our clients. The great part is that the clients who seem to appreciate it most are those that put the most work through our system. We benefit from the seamless workflow OTP creates in our prepress area.
- How do you feel OTP will help your business market itself?
- Most clients recognize the benefit of viewing contract quality proofs online rather than waiting for FAX or a delivery proof.
- How could OTP help you keep existing business and generate new business?
- We frequently market ourselves as offering great service. This fits nicely into our marketing campaign.
- What features of OnTimeProof® do you find most valuable?
- The seamless flow from prepress to client and back to prepress without leaving our desk is phenomenal. We've eliminated sending jobs to the office for client communication. That's shaved off a lot of time and inconvenience. Additionally, our office administrator is happy to have crossed this task off his list.
- What do you like the least about OnTimeProof®?
- It has a few bugs wed like to see exterminated. The mail templates do not pick up current info % author %.
- Would you recommend OnTimeProof® to others?
- Most definitely.
- Who, in your opinion, would benefit most from using OnTimeProof®?
- OnTimeProof® is helpful with all clients that have DSL or better service. However, for printing companies with clients that run a large number of jobs through at the same time, OTP is especially valuable.
