TIFFPager

TIFFPager Technical Guide

New TIFFPager application allows to include into your proofing process the files created on the Creo-Scitex RIP.
TIFFPager generates PDF and JPEG formats from the Creo-Scitex output data and then the OTP server mechanism can be used to handle them as described in previous sections.

Folder Watcher is used to automate the task of passing the files created by TIFFPager to the OTP server.
You should configure the TIFFPager in such a way that it's output files are written to the hot folder of the FW.

Creo-Scitex RIP creates 1-bit TIFF/IT files for every separation. TIFFPager can use all separations files or any selected number of them in arbitrary order to generate proofs. You should choose the separations in the box "Source Separations Files".
You can present the job as Grey scale if you set the "Black Separation" option for the selected separations.
Resulting PDF and JPEG files form a so-called output Package. You can define several Packages for one job. Every Package can have different settings for such options as crop, orientation, PDF resolution and JPEG number of pixels. You can define the list of Packages in the box "Output Packages".

In the options box of the TIFFPager product you can set the paths for the input files directories and for the output PDF and JPEG files separately. These directories will be used by default when the Packages are created. You can set the additional parameters taken into account when you use the job packages based on the imposition data taken from the JDF file.

You can run TIFFPager in batch mode using the BAT file supplied in the installation. This sample batch file calls TIFFPager when you drop TIFF files onto it. If you setup TIFFPager so that its output Packages' files are written into the Hot folder of the Folder Watcher then the process of converting the Creo-Scitex files into OTP proofs will be very easy.

When you start TIFFPager through the BAT files the Job Ticket mechanism is used and the initial product's configuration is replaced by the settings saved in the Job Ticket for a certain job.

Currently the job tickets for TIFFPager are created in XML format. You don't have to edit the JT manually. TIFFPager will save the parameters you define in a JT that you can later use with your jobs. Start TIFFPager, set all necessary options and press the "Job Ticket…" button to save your settings.
